sexy chicken wire

During one of my recent trips to Ulta, the woman helping me choose some makeup looked at her hands and let out a sarcastic chuckle. She held her fingers out so I could see her nails.
“I had my nails painted to look like fish-net stockings, they were supposed to be sexy.” She paused, then added, “When my husband saw them, he said, ‘Chicken wire? Why did you paint chicken wire on your nails?'”
She sighed, “That’s a man for ya. Now I cringe every time I look at them… Chicken wire.”
For the first time, in a conversation with a stranger, I burst out laughing.
